The Challenge

The SafeSun™ Foundation set out to elevate its annual fundraising gala, Martinis for Melanoma, into something more than an event — a movement for skin cancer prevention, early detection, and education. Coming out of the pandemic, the organization faced the challenge of re-engaging supporters, modernizing its brand, and creating new ways for people to participate both in person and remotely.

Our Approach

OGK® collaborated with the SafeSun™ Foundation to reimagine Martinis for Melanoma from the ground up. We crafted a compelling new brand system that blended sophistication with purpose — transforming the gala into an immersive experience. A series of promotional videos spotlighted local bartenders and community ambassadors, bringing energy and humanity to the cause. To ensure accessibility amid lingering health concerns, we produced a fully integrated virtual component — featuring a live event feed, virtual auction, and cocktail-making segments — so supporters could engage from anywhere.

The Outcome

The reimagined event shattered records, achieving a 10x ROI and surpassing the combined donations of all prior years. The campaign reignited public enthusiasm, expanded reach, and established Martinis for Melanoma as one of the region’s most impactful and innovative charitable events.
